The purpose of this process is to staff 1 term position until March 30, 2018 with a linguistic requirement of French essential and a reliability security requirement. A pool of (fully or partially) qualified candidates may also be established to staff identical or similar positions at Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or permanent), various language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential and Bilingual imperative and Bilingual non-imperative) and profiles (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements (reliability and secret) and conditions of employment and for various locations.

Education:
A Master's degree obtained from a recognized post-secondary institution to be completed* latest on December 31st 2017 in Geomatics, Geography or forestry sciences, with acceptable specialization in geomatics (GIS and remote sensing) applied to natural resources.

1. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
* Completed means that the records have been transmitted by the post-secondary institution.
(Acquired within a professional or graduate studies context):
Experience in handling, processing and analysis of multi-source geospatial data, including remote sensing data, using Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
(Acquired within a professional or graduate studies context):
Experience in management and manipulation of geospatial databases.
(Acquired within a professional or graduate studies context):
Experience with ArcGIS software.
(Acquired within a professional or graduate studies context):
Experience in programming script for processing and analyzing geospatial data including R language.
Experience in statistical analysis.
Experience in handling, processing and analysis radar imagery.
Experience in programming in at least one of the following languages: Python, IDL or Matlab.
Experience with PCI Geomatica,ERDAS or ENVI/IDL software.
Experience related to concepts and methods related to forest inventory.
