Update: AMENDMENT - Closing Date, Process Intent, Positions to be filled.
The purpose of this process is to staff a position in Whitehorse, Yukon and Edmonton, Alberta for an indeterminate period. A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions for future acting, assignment, secondment, deployment, Interchange Canada or indeterminate opportunities at this group and level. A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established to staff similar or identical positions at Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada with various linguistic profiles and/or requirement (English or French, Bilingual Imperative BBB, as well as tenures (term or indeterminate) and/or the security clearance (reliability or secret), which may vary according to the position being staffed. Pool could be used for acting appointments under exceptional circumstances to protect employee’s indeterminate status.

EDUCATION:
• Graduation with a diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical, civil, environmental, power, or water resources engineering technology, or some other engineering technology discipline relevant to the duties of the position, or an acceptable combination of post-secondary education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
• Significant* and recent** experience supporting the planning, design, construction and management of community building and municipal infrastructure projects, including but not limited to, water/water-water, schools/community buildings, roads, bridges and/or commercial property development.
• Significant* experience analysing and assessing technical data related to the operation and maintenance of community infrastructure assets and /facilities.
*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with performance of the duties for a minimum period of two years.
**Recent experience means within the last 5 years.
Asset Qualifications:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
• Post-secondary degree in Engineering.
• Post-secondary certificate in Construction/Project Management or Materials & Operations Management.
• Project Management Certification (PMP/CAPM) from a recognized post-secondary institution.

• Knowledge of project management principles and practices as they relate to capital projects.
• Knowledge of legislation/technical guidelines/procedures relating to operations and maintenance of community infrastructure assets and facilities (i.e. water, wastewater systems/treatment processes).
