**AMENDMENT TO CLOSING DATE**
Assist with plot land preparation, seeding and harvest operations of fill (crop) areas and research plots.
Prepare experimental materials such as seed and plant samples for laboratory analysis and assist with sample processing activities;
Participate in controlled environmental studies and field-plot experiments to assess agronomic, physiological traits of crops; participate in a plot maintenance program;
Performs field activities such as field/seedbed preparation, planting, spraying, mowing, maintenance and harvesting activities for research field and scientific purposes.
Additional duties can be assigned by the supervisor to meet the needs of the Research Program Operations.

Secondary school diploma or an approved alternative.
Recent** experience working with cereals/pulses and/or forages crops
Recent** experience in crop production (field and/or vegetable crops).
Recent** experience in harvesting crops.
**Recent experience is defined as having performed relevant duties within the last 24 months
Experience operating and maintaining agricultural and research equipment (e.g. tractor, cultivator, combine, swather, potato digger).
Experience working in an agricultural research setting.
English essential

Requirements that a person must meet or comply with for as long as they occupy the position:
- Ability and willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Ability and willingness to work in harsh environments (outdoors, cold, hot, dust, and noise).
- Ability and willingness to tolerate the presence of irritants such as dust, pollen and spores.
- Known allergies must be controlled through use of protective mask and/or medication and must not impinge on tasks to be performed.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime including evenings and weekends.
- Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding work activities including moderate to heavy manual labour requiring bending and lifting heavy objects. (up to 20kg).
