Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to fill up to three positions on an indeterminate basis.

A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates could be created and could be used to fill similar or identical positions with various tenure, security clearance or linguistic requirement.

EDUCATION

Graduation with a doctoral degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in physics, engineering physics or electrical engineering or some other specialty related to the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Have experience with at least four of the following fields:

1) Design and development of mathematical models for describing and characterizing phenomena observed in physical optics;

2) Experimental radiometry in ultra-violet and/or visible light and/or infrared;

3) Functioning and/or operation of hyperspectral and/or multispectral remote sensors in infrared;

4) Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR);

5) Functioning and development of algorithms for processing multispectral and/or hyperspectral images in visible light and infrared.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

ASSET EDUCATION

- Graduation with a doctoral degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in physics with specialization in optics or photonics.
- Graduation with a doctoral degree from a post-secondary institution with specialization in image processing.

Degree equivalency

ASSET EXPERIENCE

- Programming languages C++ and/or IDL and/or Python and/or Matlab;
- Database development tools.

- Phenomenology, modelling and experimental characterization of the spectral optical constants (n, k) of liquid and solid materials in thermal infrared;
- Measurement methods and data analysis algorithms applied to the spectral remote sensing of liquid and solid materials.
- Measurement and data analysis methods and exploitation algorithms applied to remote sensing in reflected and/or emitted infrared.
