Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with an acceptable specialization in biology, chemistry, engineering or other environmental sciences related to the position.
Experience in the management of a variety of environmental aspects, including in one of the following:
• For Stream 1: Contaminated Sites Portfolio Management (including the completion of Assessment , Remediation and Risk Management activities at either Terrestrial or Aquatic Sites); or
• For Stream 2: Environmental Compliance Management (including the completion of environmental compliance audits, employee training in environmental compliance responsibilities,
Master's degree in a related discipline.
Experience in the implementation of the Federal Contaminated Sites Action Plan.
Experience in the development, or implementation, of an Environmental Management System following the International Standards Organization 14001 (ISO 14001) requirements.
Experience in supervising staff.

Knowledge of an Environmental Management System (EMS) following the International Standards Organization 14001 (ISO 14001) requirements.
Knowledge of Canada’s environmental legislation.
Knowledge of the Federal Contaminated Site Action Plan (FCSAP).
Knowledge of sound project management practices.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing.
Ability to provide analysis and recommendations to senior management on environmental management issues.
