The candidate will manage, analyze and interpret water quality data and publish associated research results to enhance the design of water quality monitoring programs that include passive sampling devices and/or surveillance of contaminants of concern such as polycyclic aromatic compounds, mercury and pesticides.
Research will take place at Environment and Climate Change Canada’s National Hydrology Research Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and may include field locations in western Canada. The work is part of research that investigates the use of alternative water quality sampling technologies and surveillance of new and emerging contaminants of concern toward the enhancement of long-term water quality monitoring. The research affiliate will be supervised by a senior aquatic scientist.

EDUCATION :
The candidate must be currently enrolled or eligible to enroll in a PhD program for Limnology or Environmental (Aquatic) Chemistry in a recognized post-secondary academic institution for the fall and winter 2018.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience designing and planning field research or research based upon secondary source water quality data, and peer-reviewed publication of this research.
• Experience with assessment of aquatic chemistry and associated responses to drivers of change (e.g., human activity, climate change).
