The successful candidate would:
-Analyse, organize and describe library records according to established policies, procedures and cataloguing systems.
-Perform original and derived cataloguing and classification of monographic and serial materials according to established policies, practices and standards.
-Conduct research in various databases to upload records into the Integrated Library System.
-Participate in the work of committees, teams and working groups in the department.

Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary school program with acceptable specialization in social science, statistics, library/archival work or a law-related field.
Recent* experience in the cataloguing (original and derived) and classification of published material (print or online) according to AACR2R or RDA
Recent* experience in the cataloguing (original and derived) and classification of published material (print or online) according to LCSH
Recent* experience in the cataloguing (original and derived) of published material (print or online) according to MARC standards;
Recent* experience in searching and retrieving information the Internet and bibliographic databases;
*Note: "Recent" means experience gained normally no more than 3 years ago and gained in formal employment, not including practicum or co-op experience.

Ability and willingness to retrieve material from library stacks area which entails moving mobile shelving, and using step stools to access upper shelves.
