You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of secondary school

Degree equivalency

Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel.

Experience providing administrative support services in at least three (3) of the following:
a) Maintaining electronic or hard-copy files;
b) Arranging travel, training and/or events;
c) Preparing and editing correspondence. (ex. documents, reports, etc.)
d) Taking meeting minutes;
e) Requisitioning supplies and maintaining inventory;
f) Purchasing goods and services;
g) Fielding telephone and/or in person inquiries;

Asset Qualifications:

Successful completion of an acceptable post-secondary educational program, in Office Administration, Business Administration or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Degree equivalency

• Experience in making domestic or international travel arrangements.
• Experience providing financial support services in one (1) or more of the following:
a) Reconciling financial transactions;
b) Verifying and paying invoices;
c) Extracting, reconciling, interpreting and compiling financial information for use by management;
d) Preparing budgets and financial spreadsheets
e) Creating contracts and/or purchase orders
• Experience using financial software packages such as Salary Management Information System (SMIS), Management Reporting System (MRS), Abacus, SAP, Quicken, etc.
• Experience using virtual meeting technologies such as teleconferencing, video conferencing, or webinar.
• Experience using a travel system such as the Hogg Robinson Group (HRG) travel system.
• Experience using the MariTime Software system
• Experience using Phoenix as a Timekeeper (Time and Labour Module)
• Experience in the completion of staffing related paperwork.
• Experience in the scheduling of individuals for training courses and/or activities.

Organizational Needs:
Membership in one of the designated Employment Equity groups.
