Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates will be established from this process to staff similar positions within Employment and Social Development Canada. These positions may be staffed with various tenures, with various language requirements (English essential, French essential, or Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB).

- Recent* and significant** experience in providing services in a client-focused environment
- Recent* and significant** experience in providing a variety of general administrative support services
in an office environment
- Recent* and significant** experience in the use of several programs including Microsoft Office Suite:
Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

*Recent experience is defined as experience acquired in the last 5 years
** Significant experience is defined as an experience which is normally acquired over a period of one
(1) year and for which these tasks are performed on an on-going basis as part of the main duties of
the position.

Applicants must complete the Public Service Entrance Exam: Test of Judgement Unsupervised Internet Test as part of the screening for this selection process. This test assesses the judgement required for solving problems in work-related situations. You will have 75 minutes to complete the test. You must complete the test before you submit your application for this position.

Other information

Candidates from outside the public service will be responsible for all travel costs associated with this selection process.

Original proof of your education will be requested and must be provided during the selection process, in order to verify that candidates meet the education requirement. Interested persons must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to the position, in a manner determined by the Selection Board. A person may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications, operational requirements or organizational needs.

Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of 12 months and may be extended.
