Intent of the process

A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates could be established from this process to staff identical or similar positions within the Translation Bureau.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Bachelor's degree in translation, master's degree in professional translation or master’s degree in legal translation from a recognized university.

Degree equivalency

Significant* experience in terminology (research, creating and updating terminology records)


*Significant means experience that can be demonstrated by the complexity, thoroughness and quality of terminology projects.

Information on language requirements

Knowledge of TERMIUM®, the Government of Canada’s terminology and linguistic data bank.

Knowledge of the principles of terminology, and criteria for evaluating documentary sources.

Ability to identify and analyze terminological problems and to propose solutions.

Ability to organize his or her work and to meet deadlines and clients’ expectations.

Ability to work in a team.

Ability to synthesize information.

Ability to communicate effectively orally.

Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
