You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or an employer-approved alternative with a satisfactory score on the PSC test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Renewable/Natural Resources and/or Habitat Management: Experience in activities pertaining to resource utilization, field research or field assessment of a renewable resource, such as fish, wildlife, forest, etc. or resource based economic development.
- Outdoor Field Services: Field experience in providing outdoor services to fisheries, hunters, or eco-tourists.
- Fishing Industry: Experience in commercial, Aboriginal or recreational fisheries, or in a related field. (Does not include recreational fishing for personal use.)
Experience in reviewing, interpreting and synthesizing information.
Experience in writing reports, correspondence or communication materials (e.g. briefing notes, memorandums, letters) to or on behalf of federal or provincial governments, First Nations, environmental organizations, industry, other stakeholders, or international forums.
Experience organizing, chairing or facilitating meetings. (PM-05)
Experience planning and delivering a renewable resources related program. (PM-05)
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with an acceptable specialization in biology, resource management, economics, social sciences, or other science related field or other specialization relevant to position; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience related to the duties of the position.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience assessing and evaluating proposals.
Experience in performing strenuous work, and working and navigating in remote areas.
Experience in engaging, collaborating, consulting or negotiating with government organizations, non-governmental organizations, Aboriginal groups or with stakeholders.
Experience in planning, coordinating or implementation of Grants and Contributions programs
Experience in analyzing, summarizing, and report findings in support of policies or program development
Experience in the interpretation and application of legislation, regulations or policies.
