Intent of the process

Anticipatory: The intent of this process is to staff one (1) indeterminate English essential position in Winnipeg (Manitoba). A pool may be created to staff similar positions within Environment and Climate Change Canada in Edmonton (Alberta), Saskatoon (Saskatchewan) and/or Winnipeg (Manitoba) with various tenures (indeterminate, specified period, deployment, acting, acting extensions, assignment, secondment), and/or security requirements.

Education:
ED1. Graduation with a degree (baccalaureate) from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in biological sciences, conservation sciences, environmental sciences, or another science relevant to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
EX1. Significant* experience** in the development and implementation of policies or programs related to migratory bird conservation or management.
EX2. Experience** providing strategic advice on complex environmental issues.
EX3. Significant* experience** in building and maintaining multi-jurisdictional or multi-stakeholder science-based partnerships related to wildlife conservation or management.
EX4. Significant* experience supervising and evaluating the performance of one or more employees.
EX5. Significant* experience managing budgets.

*Significant is defined as experience normally acquired over a period of at least two (2) years out of the last five (5) years.
**If experience is cited occurred within a degree program, applicant must demonstrate autonomy of actions and decisions.

AED1. Graduation with an advanced degree (Masters, Doctorate) from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position.
