Duties

The Director, Capital Markets Risk Assessment Services (CMRAS) is responsible for leading a team involved in the assessment of financial institutions’ market risk and review of market risk management processes used to control capital markets trading and corporate treasury activities. The Director is accountable for providing expertise in the area of market risk analysis to other divisions within OSFI in support of OSFI’s supervisory process. Leading, developing, and coaching staff are key responsibilities of this position.

Intent of the process

The immediate intent of this process is to fill one indeterminate position on a Bilingual Imperative (CBC/CBC) basis. If no bilingual imperative (CBC/CBC) appointment can be made, a bilingual non-imperative (CBC/CBC) appointment may be considered within this advertised process.

This selection process may be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates, which may be used to staff similar or identical positions with various linguistic profiles (English Essential, Bilingual Imperative, Bilingual Non-Imperative), security profiles (reliability or secret) and various tenures (term, indeterminate, assignment, acting, and deployment), which may vary according to the position being staffed.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
● A university degree with specialization in commerce, accounting, business, finance, economics or other relevant field OR an acceptable combination of education, experience and/or training.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
● Recent and significant experience critiquing risk management practices and identifying key risk areas in financial institutions and/or recent and significant experience in capital markets trading and/or market risk.
● Recent experience in leading/managing or developing/coaching staff.
