Intent of the process

ANTICIPATORY PROCESS - A pool of fully qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at Natural Resources Canada at the AS-07 group and level with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), various linguistic requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential and Bilingual imperative) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements (i.e. Reliability, Secret, Top Secret), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

This pool may also be used to staff similar positions in other organizations within the core public administration.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution or and acceptable combination of education, training, and/ or experience in a field relevant to the position being staffed**.

**The experience/training required must be related to security and/or emergency management services and relevant to the position being staffed. A successful applicant is one who has at least six years of experience specifically in the context of security management.

Degree equivalency

- Recent* and significant** experience in developing and implementing the application of departmental security, policies, and procedures.
- Recent* and significant** experience in providing strategic advice and guidance to senior management.
- Recent* and significant** experience in managing two of the following program: corporate security, physical security, business continuity management, security screening.
- Recent* and significant** experience in managing human and financial resources.

*Recent means the individual conducted the duties within the last 2 years.
**Significant means the individual conducted the duties for a minimum of 2 years over the past 5 years.

Information on language requirements

- Knowledge of the Policy on Government Security and its related directives and standards.
- Knowledge of methods and techniques of how to conduct security risk assessments, security audits and inspections.

- Experience in leading the development of emergency related exercises.

**Significant means the individual conducted the duties for a minimum of 2 years
