- Assists in managing the financial forecasts on a monthly basis
- Creates and maintains databases and/or reports pertaining to financial management
- Assists in managing the salary forecast including working with other government departments regarding salary payments or recoveries
- Verifies incoming work pertaining to financial management from junior officers
- Creates contracts and provides guidance on contracting and procurement
- Coordinates employee arrivals and departures
- Processes payments using financial management software
- Manages client requests through a general inbox
This is an anticipatory selection process to staff one English essential position on an indeterminate basis in the Toronto area. A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions with various language requirements and various tenures within Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, secondment or assignment).

A secondary school diploma.
*Significant experience coordinating, providing, preparing, and completing administrative services including at least two (2) of the following: contracting, training, procurement, facilities management, asset management, or financial management.
*Significant experience is defined as experience that was a core part of the applicant’s employment for a period of six (6) months within the last three (3) years.
Willingness to travel.
Willingness to work overtime.

Information on language requirements
Knowledge of the Financial Administrative Act (FAA), Sections 32, 33, and 34.
Knowledge of the Treasury Board’s National Joint Council (NJC) Travel Directive.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to anticipate problems and make recommendations.
Intermediate proficiency of MS Excel.

*Significant experience using a financial management system such as Integrated Financial and Material System (IFMS) or SAP.
Experience in preparing salary forecasting using a financial system.
Experience completing financial administrative duties such as monitoring budgets, processing invoices, reconciling, and monthly financial forecasting.
