Education

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related IT field, or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience in IT.

Degree equivalency

Experience

EX1 – Extensive* experience working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams on IM/IT projects.

EX2 – Extensive* experience data management and SAS programming experience performing all the following tasks:

- Oversee systematic importation of data from various external sources to SAS format;
- Creation and management of SAS data resources;
- Developing methods and processes to ensure data quality and integrity ;
- Use of SAS to manipulate data into formats required for analysis using Sort, Merge, Summary and other SAS procedures;
- Data modelling and data table relationships;
- Manipulation of large datasets efficiently;
- Production of comprehensive documentation of data resources for use by both programmers and analysts;
- Development of analysis methodology for economic research;
- Performance of data analysis for economic research;
- Export of data from SAS to various external sources;
- SAS Graphics tools;
- Providing programming support and data consultation service to analysts.

* Extensive means the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex related activities for a minimum of three (3) years within the last (5) years.

EX3 – Experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to data sources, data models and structure, data analysis, programming.

EX4 – Extensive* experience writing for the purposes of preparing technical and user documentation and data analysis reports.

EX5 – Management of technical staff and consultants.

Asset – Education

AED 1 – Successful completion of a university degree from a recognized university in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related IT field.

Degree equivalency

Asset – Experience:

AEX 1 – (SQL Server) Database Administration experience as pertaining to the development and maintenance of a data warehouse.

AEX 2 – Data modelling as pertaining to the development, creation and maintenance of a data warehouse or Extensive data repository used for analysis purposes.

AEX 3 – Data warehouse development and implementation experience.

AEX 4 – Business Intelligence development and implementation experience.

AEX 5 – Experience using SDLC (Systems Development Lifecycle) and Project Management methodologies.

AEX 6 – Experience with SAS ODS and up-to-date SAS Graphics tools for data presentation, SAS Enterprise Guide.
