EDUCATION:

Secondary school diploma or acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

EX1. Recent Experience * in mail delivery or messenger services.
EX2. Experience in using a computer in a workplace setting and a minimum of two software programs such as: Excel, QuattroPro, Word, Outlook, or a hand delivery tracking software.
EX3. Recent* experience in providing service to clients by telephone or in person.

* “Recent experience” is defined as having performed the functions for a minimum of four consecutive (4) months during the last three (3) years.

KNOWLEDGE:

K1. Knowledge of the Privy Council Office.
K2. Knowledge of the various departments in the National Capital Region.

K5. Knowledge of the guidelines for the safe Transport and Transmittal of documents.

AEX4. Experience in providing reception or attendant services for meetings and conferences.
AEX5. Experience in handling and conveying highly classified documents.
AEX6. Experience in delivering Ministerial Documents.
AEX7. Experience in service provision to Senior Government officials such as ADM, DM or Minister's office.

KNOWLEDGE (ASSET):

AK1. Knowledge of computerized tracking systems.
AK2. Knowledge of Canadian and world geography.

Conditions of employment

Top Secret security clearance

- Must be able to work overtime on short notice.
- Must be able to work on a flexible work schedule.
- Must be able to be assigned evening and weekend on-call duties.
- Must hold a valid G driver’s licence (Ontario) or a Class 5 driver’s license (in Québec)
- Must be able to quickly lift items weighing up to 25 kilograms on a routine basis and must be able to walk long distances, climb stairs while carrying document cases and push and pull heavy carts and/or briefcases.
- While on call must be able to report for work within one hour of being summoned.

Candidates must meet the above conditions of employment upon appointment and maintain them throughout their employment.
