This is an anticipatory process. EDUCATION
Post-secondary diploma in an administrative or public sector management field or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience.*
*The definition of acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience is:
The successful completion of a two years post-secondary education in administrative or public sector management field or another field relevant to the work to be performed, and:
Three (3) years’ experience in a senior advisor position in the Federal Public Service.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in planning and organizing meetings, workshops, conferences or similar events involving several partners or clients.
Experience in providing recommendations to senior management.**
Experience in preparing various documents such as briefing notes, business cases, options analysis, or documents to senior management on various issues.
Experience in the interpretation and application of directives and policies.
Experience in supervising staff.
**Senior management is defined as director general (DG) or above.

Knowledge of the federal government’s integrated planning and reporting cycle.
Knowledge of Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada plans and priorities.

EDUCATION
A degree (bachelor's) from a recognized university in a field related to the position.
EXPERIENCE
Experience working with First Nations issues.
Experience in managing an administrative function or office liaising with senior executives, directors or managers
Experience with project management methods, techniques, and practices.
Experience in liaison with central agencies.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of the objectives and structures of key First Nation organizations in British Columbia and of relevant provincial ministries and of the British Columbia Treaty Commission.
Knowledge of contemporary legal and policy issues relating to First Nations in British Columbia.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willing and able to work overtime on short notice.
Willing to work irregular hours.
Reliability and Security: Secret
