Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff one full time specified period position.

A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used for similar indeterminate, specified period employment, acting appointments, assignments, secondments or deployment.

Education:
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in economics, sociology, or statistics.

Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for specialization do not necessarily have to be part of a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
- Experience preparing research and analysis in one or more of the following areas:
Quantitative research, Qualitative research, Policy analysis, Statistical analysis, Economic analysis or Market analysis.
- Experience reporting and presenting research or analysis findings.
- Experience participating on project teams or working groups.

Asset Qualifications

Education:
- Graduation with a master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in economics, sociology, or statistics.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
- Experience in planning and conducting economic, financial, and operational research and policy studies relevant to the Canadian grain industry.
- Experience working with stakeholders from the agriculture sector.
- Experience managing inquiries from the private sector.

Knowledge:
-Knowledge of program design including definition of outputs, outcomes, and the use of logic models.

Conditions of employment

Secret security clearance

Valid Canadian passport.
Ability and willingness to travel when required.
Ability and willingness to work overtime when required.

Other information

Management may decide to use breadth and depth of the screening criteria, assessed qualifications and/or a cut-off mark that is higher than the pass mark on any evaluation used throughout the process.
