Large investments are being made in the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard. The organization needs to hire additional resources to deliver on many key programs. In order to support the various clients, the HR Operations regional team in the National Capital Region (NCR) is recruiting Human Resources Advisors. In that role, you will act as a first point of contact for human resources matters (mainly in staffing) for a client sector such as the Canadian Coast Guard, Ecosystems and Fisheries Management and Ecosystems and Oceans Science. You will be asked to discuss your clients’ needs with regards to human resources; present options, conduct research and analysis to identify solutions, and support them throughout hiring processes (discuss assessment strategy, support screening process, development of assessment tools, etc.). You will be part of a dynamic team where you will get support and opportunities to discuss cases, explore innovative ways to do staffing within the federal public service.
A pool of partially qualified candidates will be established and will be used to staff similar positions with various bilingual language requirements and various security requirements. These positions may be staffed on a permanent or temporary basis (term, acting, assignment, secondment).
The intent is to primarily staff HR Advisor positions within the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. However, other organizations of the public service could appoint from the pool.

EDUCATION:
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in human resources management, labour or industrial relations, psychology, public or business administration, organizational development, education sciences, social sciences, sociology, or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed.
Note: Indeterminate incumbents of PE positions and of positions in the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions and in Indian Oil and Gas Canada that are equivalent to PE positions on October 1, 1999, who do not possess the education level prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
- Significant experience in recruitment (must be professional activities conducted in the context of recruitment, assessment and/or staffing normally performed on a continuous period of approximately 12 to 18 months or more).
- Experience in dealing with different business partners, clients or managers.
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)
