This staffing process is being used to staff current and future Public Service positions in various Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Detachments in the Southern Alberta District.
A pool of qualified candidates will also be established to staff similar full-time or part-time positions, on a permanent or temporary basis in numerous RCMP Detachments in Southern Alberta District.

Successful completion of two years of secondary school (high school) or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Proof of education will be required prior to appointment.
- Experience in the provision of administrative support services including three of the following: data entry, preparing correspondence, ordering office supplies, filing, or processing mail.
- Experience providing service to internal or external clients / general public, via telephone or in person.
- Experience in using computer applications including the following: databases, spreadsheets and word processing.

– Experience in maintaining a law enforcement database such as: Police Reporting Occurrence System (PROS) or Canadian Police Information (CPIC).

- Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation (including owned or leased government transport, commercial and light aircraft).
- Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required.
- Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license or personal mobility normally associated with a valid driver’s license.

- Objective Exercise for Personnel in Administrative Functions
The OEPAF is a competency evaluation tool used in staffing processes for administrative support positions. This skills test contains multiple choice questions. The scenarios are related to setting priorities, data entry, administrative document verification, and communication skills. This test will be used to evaluate the following merit criteria:
- Ability to transmit information
- Detail-oriented
- Being organised
- Action-oriented
The retest period for the OEPAF is 180 days. If you submit an application before the retest period has elapsed, your application will not be considered.
Interviews will be conducted.
Reference checks will be conducted.
Candidates from outside the Federal Public Service may be required to pay for their own relocation expenses.
Candidates invited to an interview will be required to bring proof of their education credentials, in the form of a diploma or official transcript (original documents only).
