This position is located at the Western Alberta District RCMP Office: 10605 W Side Drive, Grande Prairie, Alberta.

The intent of this process is to establish a pool of qualified candidates inclusive of Public Service (PS) employees and Civilian Members (CM).

Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

• Successful completion of two years of secondary school, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.*

Degree equivalency

• Experience in the provision of clerical support services, including: data entry, preparing correspondence, and filing.
• Experience using word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Experience providing service to internal or external clients / general public, via telephone or in person.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

• Willing and able to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required.
• Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation (including owned or leased government transport, commercial and light aircraft and up to and including remote locations).

• Experience maintaining and updating a Human Resources Management Information System (e.g. HRMIS, PeopleSoft).
• Experience in maintaining database.
• Experience providing administrative support services in a law enforcement and/or legal environment.
• Experience preparing documents such as letters, memoranda, briefing notes or reports.
• Experience providing financial support services (services may include, but are not limited to, verifying and correcting financial claims, controlling and monitoring petty cash, preparing financial status reports, etc.)
• Experience in providing records management services such as indexing, cross-referencing, filing, retrieving, retaining, archiving or destroying data.
• Experience in planning and coordinating events.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - RCMP security clearance. » » Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a RCMP Security Clearance throughout their employment. Positions filled will have security clearance requirements at the following levels: RCMP Reliability Status, Secret or Top Secret. This requires a Security/Reliability Interview, and a field investigation in matters of Criminal Activities, credit/finances, education, employment, reference, etc.

This skills test contains multiple choice questions. The scenarios are related to setting priorities, coordinate and assign activities, revise work schedules, control the quality of the tasks executed while respecting the conveyed rules and procedures. This test will be used to evaluate the following merit criteria:

The retest period for the SJT-AS is 180 days. If you submit an application before the retest period has elapsed, your application will not be considered.
