Intent of the process

Immediate staffing need: 1 full time permanent position in Calgary, Alberta.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used for similar permanent and temporary employment for the location indicated for this process.

In the event that an employee of the public service is qualified through this process, and there is a temporary need, he/she may be considered for acting or assignment/secondment opportunities.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience coordinating the collection of and dissemination of briefing materials and liaising with offices of senior executives and internal or external clients.
Experience managing or organizing the daily agenda for management such as meetings, conferences, travel and training.
Experience in the preparation and management of correspondence and information: composing, editing, formatting, controlling, tracking, filing correspondence and briefing notes, emails, compilation of information or project data into an electronic information system.
Experience in the provision of financial, travel and hospitality services.
Experience using common word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail software (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook).
Recent* experience in the provision of administrative support services.

Note: *Recent means the experience was gained within approximately two years.

Graduation with a diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, in a field relevant to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

Experience working in a senior executive office (Director or Director General’s office or equivalent).
Experience using departmental correspondence tracking system such as TRECS (CCM Mercury), Agridoc or other similar electronic document management systems.
Experience in providing functional guidance (training) and supervising staff.
Recent* experience in coordinating domestic and international travel arrangements using a travel management tool such as HRG or equivalent.

Note: *Recent means the experience was gained within approximately two years.

Knowledge of federal government policies on handling and working with sensitive and confidential information.
