By providing these centralized services to departments and agencies, we enable them to focus on what they do best: providing their programs and services to Canadians.
The intent of this appointment process is to establish a fully assessed pool of qualified candidates for indeterminate appointments in Toronto and Vancouver. This process may also be used for future vacancies for similar positions with various linguistic profiles, various security requirements and different tenures across Canada.

Essential Qualification No. 1:
Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with acceptable specialization (four (4) courses in one of the following) social sciences; statistics; library/archival work or a law related field OR and acceptable combination of education, training and or experience in real estate valuation/appraisal. “Social science” includes economics, political science, sociology, anthropology, history, psychology, geography, criminology, and other disciplines associated with social science such as real estate valuation/appraisal.
Note: Current EC incumbents who occupied an SI position prior to June 22, 2009 are deemed to meet the above education
Essential Qualification No. 2:
Current Accreditation in good standing and re-certification as a professional appraiser by either the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AACI designation) or the Order of Chartered Appraisers of Quebec (EA designation).
Essential Qualification No. 3:
Recent and significant experience in the delivery of real estate valuation/appraisal services.
Essential Qualification No. 4:
Recent and significant experience in the provision of real estate valuation/appraisal and related advisory services to clients or senior officials.
*Recent and significant is defined as within the last 5 years and the depth and breadth of the experience normally associated with the full time performance of duties for at least 5 years. The performance of duties is defined as substantial responsibility and involvement in management of valuation projects of varying sizes (large to small and complex to simple).
Asset Qualifications No. 1:
Experience in managing human and financial resources.
Asset Qualifications No. 2:
Experience in real estate valuation/appraisal for expropriation, assessment and land claim purposes.
Asset Qualifications No. 3:
Experience in the advancement of the real estate valuation/appraisal profession (i.e. chairing or participation in committees, seminars or as guest speakers, etc.).
Asset Qualifications No. 4:
Experience as an expert witness in court.
