Duties

Operational Requirement Analysts (CCG) provide key professional support for all aspects of Coast Guard programs and services including; Search and Rescue, Environmental Response, Aids to Navigation, Waterways, Marine Communications and Traffic Services, Icebreaking, the Abandoned, Wrecked and Derelict Vessel program, Operational Personnel, Exercising and Training, and requirements for a diverse and multipurpose fleet of vessels and aircraft.

Education:
Secondary school diploma or higher or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience related to the position

Degree equivalency

Experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a maritime work function defined as at sea or ashore supporting marine activity.
Experience in analyzing information and preparing reports on maritime operational activities.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the delivery of programs at sea or ashore supporting marine activity.
Experience in the development of at least one of the following:
o statements of operational requirements (SOR)
o operational standards
o concept of operations (Con Ops)
o work instruction documents (procedures)

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Education:
Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization or training in the field related to the position.
Possession of a Marine Certificate of competency issued by Transport Canada or the Canadian Coast Guard, for example, a Transport Canada Watchkeeping Mate certificate or a Command certificate.
Possession of a Marine Communications AND Traffic Services Officer certificate.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
2 years of field level operational experience in one of the delivery of Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) programs:
- Search and Rescue (SR), Environmental Response (ER), Ice Breaking (IB), Marine Communications and Traffic Services (MCTS) or Aids and Navigation (ATON).

Experience in supervision including management of employee work tasks, leave, discipline, training plans and performance evaluation.
