Intent of the process

“Anticipatory Process” The intent is to create a pool of Aboriginal qualified candidates using the Aboriginal Peoples Employment Program, which aims to strategically increase Aboriginal representation with First Nations and Inuit Health Branch. As such, Organizational Needs will be applied and first consideration will be given to candidates self-identifying as belonging to Aboriginal Peoples. This pool may be used to staff future vacancies on a temporary (Term) or permanent (Indeterminate) basis. A Deployment, Acting Appointment, Secondment/Assignment may be offered to qualified employees of the public service.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION (CR-03, CR, 04 and CR-05): Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an employer approved alternative (a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to two years of secondary school education OR a combination of education, training and/or experience).

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE (CR-03, CR, 04 and CR-05):
Experience in general office practices.
Experience using computer programs such as WordPerfect or MS Word or MS Excel.
Experience using office equipment such as fax machines or scanners or photocopiers.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS (CR-04 and CR-05):
Experience in providing administrative services, including taking minutes and making travel arrangements.
Experience delivering services to clients and medical professionals, such as doctors or nurses or pharmacists or vision care providers.
Experience working in a call centre environment.
Experience working with First Nation Communities and First Nation Organizations.
Experience working with the public in a reception environment.
Experience using financial systems and procedures in an automated environment.
Experience working with the System Application Products (SAP) system.
Experience working in First Nations health programs and services such as Non-Insured Health Benefits.
Ability to communicate orally in Ojibway or OjiCree.

ORGANIZATIONAL NEED:
In alignment with the APEP in support of increasing Aboriginal representation in areas having the most impact on program delivery and health outcomes of FNIHB’s target population, selection will be limited to candidates self-identifying as belonging to Aboriginal peoples. Aboriginal candidates must use the Aboriginal Affiliation Form (AAAF).

Willingness to work and relocate to Sioux Lookout, Ontario.
