As part of a 16-person Lampricide Treatment Unit, and under the supervision of the Lampricide Applications Coordinator, the incumbent organises and conducts lampricide applications during treatments that target larval sea lamprey populations in lotic and lentic waters in the Great Lakes Region. Duties may include reviewing previous assessment and applications data, understanding scheduling, methodology and requirements for personnel, equipment, and lampricide, coordinating land owner contacts, the recording of data and samples following established protocols, and the use and maintenance of equipment in the field and laboratory.
This is a full-time indeterminate position. The anticipated number of position(s) that may be staffed with this advertised process is one (1); however, a pool of qualified candidates will be established through this staffing process and may be used to staff similar positions with different tenures (i.e. on a term, acting or an indeterminate basis).

Successful completion of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience in an integrated program to control Aquatic Invasive Species in the Great Lakes region.
Experience in conducting biological sampling and collecting data in a field work environment.
Experience operating a personal computer and using standard software applications such as MS Word and Excel.
Experience towing and maneuvering trailers.

Successful completion of a recognized post-secondary program with courses in aquatic sciences such as fisheries management, limnology, environmental science or another field relevant to the duties of this position.
Knowledge of Ontario Ministry of Transportation regulations.
Knowledge of Canadian Coast Guard regulations.
Knowledge of Ontario Ministry of Environment and Climate Change pesticide regulations.
Ability to identify Great Lakes fishes to species.
