Evaluates offender’s work performance in all areas of skills development, fundamental skills, personal management and teamwork skills for input into the Offender Management System; prepares oral and written reports for the benefit of other correctional staff in order to assist them with decision making.
Supervises the operations of an upholstery shop; supervises, counsels, directs and provides employable skills to inmates in the business of upholstery goods and administers the operation of the CORCAN shop.
Orders material, supplies, tools or services required to maintain the enterprise to ensure the production of the highest quality product or service (according to ISO standards where applicable); maintains and controls shop inventory and tools in accordance with institutional and CORCAN security policies; and, provides offender safety training and instructs on proper use and care of the equipment.
Performs institutional security duties by conducting daily security checks, accounts for inmates in the work programs and maintains security of assigned areas.
Organization
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of a term of two years or more, as imposed by the court. CSC is responsible for managing institutions of various security levels and supervising offenders under conditional release in the community.

Challenge
Candidates must be willing to work in a correctional environment where ongoing contact with federally sentenced inmates will be necessary.
A pool of partially qualified candidates will be established and may be used to fill similar vacancies of permanent or temporary tenures within Correctional Service Canada in the various locations.

Recent and significant upholstery work experience.
