Duties

- Act as a point of contact for visitors.
- Answer phone calls.
- Evaluate the priority and sensitivity of requests.
- Assign or redirect specific requests to those responsible.
- Participate in special projects.
- Provide administrative services.

Work environment

The Summits Management Office (SMO) within Global Affairs Canada is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing logistics for major international events in Canada. These events allow Canada to demonstrate its values and priorities on an international stage and are opportunities for strategic engagement on the most pressing global issues.
The SMO is responsible for leading in the areas of operational policy development, accreditation, communications, protocol, transportation, procurement, media operations, logistics, security, human resources and finance for major international events hosted in Canada.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one temporary position in Charlevoix.

A pool of qualified candidates will be established to staff similar positions within Global Affairs Canada.

EXPERIENCE
- Experience in providing reception services or administrative support in an office environment.
- Experience in using personal computers and office software.
- Experience in organizing special events.

- Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
- Ability to organize work, determine priorities and work under pressure.
