• Installation and removal of police emergency equipment including telecommunication equipment, video cameras, radar, emergency lighting, prisoner shields, gun racks and other related equipment.
• Use of specialized mechanical and electronic test equipment
• Diagnose, service and repair a diverse range of emergency equipment, including lighting and other specialty equipment, smart link (electronic siren) systems and police communication equipment
• Provide fly-in service to remote locations to service and repair a wide variety of on-road and off-road vehicles

The intent of this process is to staff Motor Vehicle Senior Technician vacancies in Edmonton (AB) and Regina (SK).
The staffing requirements in Winnipeg (MB) are anticipatory only. Currently there are no vacancies.

Possession of a valid Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Certificate as an Automotive Service Technician
Recent (within the last two years) hands-on experience in repairing automobiles and/or light trucks in an automotive repair shop.
Experience in installing automotive electronic accessories
Experience installing mobile communication equipment
Experience welding and metal fabricating techniques
Experience using a computer for emails, garage management programs and vehicle repair manuals

10. The successful candidate will be required to provide original documentation of proof of Canadian Citizenship prior to appointment. 11. This process involves a security interview and background investigation covering a minimum of your last 5 years of history including credit and financial verification. A criminal record check will be completed. Substance abuse is a factor that will be assessed.
