The Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) work together to fulfill the Government of Canada’s mission to defend Canadian interests and values, and to contribute to international peace and security. DND is the largest federal government department in Canada and is part of the Public Service of Canada. Internally, DND and the CAF are collectively termed the Defence Team and civilians make up close to 25 per cent of the organization. As public servants and members of the Defence Team, civilians work side-by-side with CAF personnel for the defence of Canada and Canada’s contribution to international security and stability efforts.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years* of an acceptable post-secondary educational program from a recognized institution.
*It is the recognized educational institution (e.g. community college or university) that determines if the courses taken by a candidate correspond to two years of a post-secondary program at the institution.
If applicants are screened into the process and contacted, they must be prepared to provide proof of education upon request. Failure to provide the information when requested will result in rejection of application.
EXPERIENCE:
*Recent experience working with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and Outlook.
*Recent experience providing support services in an office environment.
*Recent experience providing client services either in person, by phone or by email.
*Recent experience maintaining files and records.
* Recent experience is defined as one (1) year experience within the last five (5) years.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
Post-secondary certificate or diploma in studies relevant to the position being staffed such as Supply Chain or Logistics.
Experience providing administrative support in the Federal Public Service.
Experience in the use of Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) or other SAP based enterprise systems.
Experience using Microsoft Access or other database software.
Experience ordering and purchasing goods in a work environment.
Experience in accounts payable/receivable.

**The Public Service Entrance Exam 371 (PSEE) will assess these qualifications.
ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS:

Applicants must complete the Public Service Entrance Exam Unsupervised Internet Test as part of the screening for this selection process. This exam consists of two sub-tests: the Test of Reasoning and the Test of Judgement. While all applicants are asked to take the first sub-test, you will only be invited to take the second sub-test if additional information is required to complete the assessment. You will have 90 minutes to complete the Test of Reasoning and 75 minutes to complete the Test of Judgement (if required). You must complete the test(s) before you submit your application for this position.

Candidates are entitled to participate in the appointment process in the official language of their choice.
A variety of assessment tools may be used (written examination, interview in person, by telephone or by videoconference and/or reference checks).
Public Service Tests will only be administered at a Canadian Armed Forces Base or Wing. Candidates are required to pay for their own travel expenses for any stage of the assessment process and will not be reimbursed.
At the time of assessment, proof of Canadian Citizenship, proof of Education and at least 2 work references will be required.
A random selection and/or top down selection may be used at any point during the assessment process.
All information obtained throughout the selection process, from the time of application to close of process, may/will be used to evaluate the candidates.
