Interested persons must clearly identify for which stream they are applying (Stream 1, Stream 2 or both). Candidates must obtain the required pass mark for each qualification in the respective stream in order to be given further consideration in the selection process.
"Ability to communicate effectively in writing" will be assessed via a combination of a review of the initial online application (resume and cover letter) and a written exercise administered during the assessment stage. Candidates must pass both components individually to qualify for this essential qualification.
The initial intent of the process is to fill two (2) indeterminate (or term) positions bilingual imperative BBB/BBB.
A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established from this process which may be used to staff similar positions at the Department of Justice Canada with different tenures(e.g., term, indeterminate) with various language requirements (English or French essential, and Bilingual Imperative of various levels) and with various security requirements (such as Reliability or Secret) which may vary according to the position to be staffed.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics. Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Definition of degree: A baccalaureate or higher level degree, as established by educational authorities, unless the type of credential is specified in the relevant Qualification Standard.
EXPERIENCE
Stream 1
EX1 - Experience in gender-based analysis.
Stream 2
EX2 - Experience with corporate planning or performance reporting.
Stream 1 and Stream 2
EX3 - Experience in conducting research on topics related to social or economic policy and in interpreting research results.
EX4 - Experience preparing concise summaries of policy-related issues or information.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
AEX1 - Experience in supporting policy planning.
AEX2 - Experience contributing to policy development.
AEX3 - Experience contributing to the operations of a Secretariat.
AEX4 - Experience conducting consultations.
AEX5 - Experience preparing tables and presentations using common software application.

Please note that achieving a pass mark on any of the assessments used does not mean you will move forward in the selection process. Management may decide to use a cut-off mark that is higher than the pass mark on any of the evaluations used throughout the selection process.
