EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Significant* and recent** experience working in a manufacturing***, production, or trades environment.
Significant* and recent** experience in inventory control, tool control, or quality control.
Recent** experience in supervising or training individuals.
Experience in reading blueprints, drawings, or patterns, and assembling products according to manufacturer’s specifications.
Experience in the use of various computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

*Significant experience refers to the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of duties on a regular and continuous basis for approximately 3 years.
**Recent experience is within the past 5 years.
***Manufacturing environment is defined as converting raw materials into finished products/goods.

Possession of a Provincial Trade Qualification associated with upholstery, textiles, automotive mechanics, woodwork, metal work, sawmill, paint, or any other qualification associated with the position

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION

First Aid certificate
Forklift certificate
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certificate

EXPERIENCE
Experience working in upholstery.
Experience working in textiles.

Experience working in a sawmill environment.

Experience in managing a production line.

**** Multiple barriers refers to individuals with barriers who would require additional assistance in learning and mastering assigned tasks: such as language, disability, mental health issues, drug addictions, and those in conflict with the law

Reliability and Security: Reliability Status
Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license that conforms to Provincial requirements.
Willingness and ability to travel within the Pacific Region.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, carry materials of varying weight up and down stairs, twist, bend, and kneel.
