The successful candidate may choose to live in Amherst or in nearby cities, such as Moncton, which is a forty (40) minute drive, or Truro, which is a one (1) hour drive from Amherst.
The successful candidate would be eligible for relocation costs, in accordance with the National Joint Council Directive (http://www.njc-cnm.gc.ca/directive/d6/en).

As this position will be staffed to work out of our Atlantic Regional Office, candidates are encouraged to apply only if they are willing and able to work out of the Atlantic Regional Office in Amherst Nova Scotia.
A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established to staff similar or identical positions at Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC). Various linguistic profiles requirement as well as tenures and/or security clearance may vary according to the position being staffed.
The pool could be used to offer acting appointments, assignment, secondment or deployment under exceptional circumstances in order to protect employee's indeterminate status.

A degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group

Eligibility for accreditation to a recognized professional accounting designation (chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chart Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified General Accountant (CGA))
NOTE:
*A baccalaureate or higher level degree.
-Significant* and recent** experience in providing briefings, expert advice, guidance and interpretation management on complex financial management issues.
-Significant* and recent** experience in experience in the area of financial planning and analysis, financial reporting.
-Significant* and recent** experience in managing the delivery of a service or program.
-Experience in interpreting and/or implementing financial policies, directives and procedures.
-Significant* and recent** experience in engaging and maintaining relationships with internal partners and/or external clients.
-Significant* and recent** experience in managing financial and human resources.
NOTE:
*Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full–time performance of the duties for a continuous 2 (two) years or more.
**Recent experience is defined as having been acquired within the last five (5) years.
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
-Experience working with or for financial institutions.
-Experience of providing financial advice on the management of grants and contributions.
-Experience in using Systems, Applications and Products financial system.
-Experience in Audit.
-Experience in Accounting Operations (expenditure or Revenue managements).
