The intent of this process is to staff 2 (indeterminate) permanent positions. A pool of candidates will be established through this process to staff anticipated permanent and/or temporary vacancies. This pool will be valid for 1 year with possibility of extension.
ACOA may staff similar bilingual positions with comparable salary ranges with this process. Please note that these may include classifications which differ from the ones listed.

Your résumé.
You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. Failing to do so could result in your application being rejected.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:
Completion of a post-secondary program of at least one year in a field related to the position OR an acceptable combination of education and/or experience.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
-Experience in providing administrative support services to a team/unit and/or a manager.
-Experience in organizing meetings, conference calls and/or events.
-Experience in formatting and proofreading various documents, reports and materials.
-Significant* experience in working with computer software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Outlook.
*Significant means a depth and breadth of experience normally associated with a minimum of approximately 2 years experience.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
ASSET EXPERIENCE:
-Experience in providing administrative support related to one of the following fields: human resources management, communications, finance, procurement of goods and services, facilities management, evaluation.
-Experience in financial administration, including budgeting or accounting operations.
-Experience working with SharePoint.

Official languages proficiency will not be assessed for entry to the pool. Candidates entered in the pool will have an opportunity for assessment of their official languages proficiency if and when they are considered for an appointment. However, please be advised that all positions to be staffed will be bilingual imperative.

Instructions for all Essential Experience:
For each question, you are required to provide a clear, concrete and detailed example which demonstrated HOW you meet the experience requirement. When describing your examples, make sure that you:
-Choose examples where the complexity, impact and difficulty sufficiently enable you to properly convey the breadth and depth of the experience you possess.
-Concentrate mainly on what you have done. When referring to experience acquired in the context of a team, clearly describe your role and how it differed from the roles of the other team members. For example, it might be best to avoid such expressions as, “We decided to…”, “We organized a …”, or “We felt that…” Any mention of others’ actions should serve solely as context for your actions. Try to phrase your example in the first person (I did, I thought, I said).
-The examples you provide for each question are your opportunity to demonstrate your attainment of the Essential criteria. Therefore, it is vital that the information you provide is complete.
-IMPORTANT NOTE: applicants who indicate in their response “see résumé” or “see applications” will not be accepted and may result in your application being rejected.
-There is a 4,000 character maximum for each screening response in the jobs.gc.ca site.
-Reference checks may be sought.
-An interview may be administered.
-A written exam may be administered.
-An unsupervised internet test may be administered.
-All written and verbal communication obtained throughout the selection process, from the time of application to close of process, may be used to evaluate the candidate.
-Candidates are entitled to participate in the selection process in the official language of their choice. Please indicate your preferred written and oral official language in your application.
-Candidates may be required to meet the asset qualifications or the organizational needs, depending on the requirements of the specific position being staffed.
