The Real property Branch of Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) provides specialized services to departments and federal organisations in the principal disciplines of construction.
Within that branch, architectural and engineering services offer a wide range of general and specialized services in interior design. The Principal Interior Designer provides the supervision of the interior design team.
The main duties are:
- Manage the team work of interior design and measurement.
- Establish or participate in the preparation of project parameters.
- Manage furniture purchase service.
- Strategic advice in complex projects.
- Develop or participate in the development of functional and technical analysis.
- Prepare or manage the preparation of project budgets.
- Manage and coordinate quality insurance services.
- Represent the center of expertise within the context of the elaboration, the update and the preparation of specific norms.
- Manage spatial information update for premises.
- Evaluate and negotiate proposals in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Follow up of industry trends and best practices.

The intent is to staff one permanent position in the office of Montreal with the French essential language requirement.
A pool of completely qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within Public Services and Procurement Canada, Montreal Region, whose duration and linguistic profile (French essential and bilingual imperative BBB/BBB) could vary depending on the position being staffed.

Graduation with a degree in interior design or architecture from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Recent* and meaningful experience** as an interior designer on design project of interior design.
Recent* and meaningful experience** in delivering various interior design services (e.g. defining needs, technical and functional programs, expertise, drawing up mandate, signage, measurement, etc.)
Recent* and meaningful experience** in managing mandate in the field of interior design, including quality control.
Recent*** and meaningful experience** in employee supervision.
