Stream 1: Implementation Officer
As a member of the Yukon Regional Office’s Implementation and Negotiation team, the Implementation Officer is responsible for providing advice and assistance regarding the negotiation, implementation and monitoring of activities related to the Yukon Umbrella Final Agreement, and the Yukon First Nation Final and Self-Government Agreements.
Stream 2: Intergovernmental Affairs Officer
As a Intergovernmental Affairs Officer with the Yukon Regional Office you will be responsible for reviewing project proposals and recommending approval and funding based on program policies and guidelines; working collaboratively with First Nations in the area of capacity development and managing projects, coordinating intergovernmental working groups, and preparing briefing material for senior management.
A pool of qualified candidates will be established from this process and may be used to fill positions with various tenures (indeterminate, term, assignment, secondment, acting).

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Stream 1 & 2:
• An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience defined as a high school diploma plus a minimum of 5-year experience researching, analysing and providing advice in areas with varying interests and stakeholders.
• Experience working in an Indigenous environment.
• Experience participating on intergovernmental or interdepartmental working groups and/or committees.
• Experience leading projects or initiatives.
• Experience in preparing written reports, correspondence and briefing notes for senior management.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Stream 1 & 2:
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in social science or a law related field or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed
Stream 1 & 2:
• Experience working in a northern environment
Stream 1:
• Experience working with the provisions of Yukon First Nation Final and Self-Government Agreements.
Stream 2:
• Experience delivering programs and services and managing funding agreements

There are two streams being evaluated for this process. Candidates must clearly indicate in their cover letter the stream(s) they are applying for and provide detailed examples as to how they meet the essential Education and experience requirements.

The essential qualifications that are listed in the statement of merit criteria are mandatory. A pass mark will be established for each. Applicants must meet each essential qualification to be appointed to the position. An applicant may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. In the event that there are as many applicants who meet the essential qualifications as there are vacancies, the manager may decide not to assess some or all of the asset qualifications.
Written tests will be administered, oral interviews conducted, and references contacted.
