Duties

Contributes to effective Housing Division’s program delivery to clients, processes requests, answers enquiries and provides technical information to service organizations/external partners regarding homeowner files. Investigates, troubleshoots, and updates problem files, quality assurance reports and databases. Coordinates, develops and maintains problem files procedures. Manages data transfers to provincial partners to ensure timely program delivery. Provides advice and recommendations to service organizations/external partners/team members and management/technical personnel.

Intent of the process

A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), various linguistic requirements English Essential, English or French Essential, and Bilingual (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc),various security requirements (reliability, secret), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in one of the following disciplines: science; building science; architecture; engineering; or another specialty relevant to the duties of the position; or,
An acceptable combination* of education, experience or training would also be accepted.

*Acceptable combination refers to a graduation from a recognized secondary or post-secondary institution and at least four (4) years federal housing programs or other provincial/territorial/municipal programs related federal housing programs (e.g. uses/refers to federal codes/standards as part of the program) experience.

Degree equivalency

Minimum one (1) year experience in Canadian low-rise residential construction/renovation or inspection/energy efficiency evaluation within the last ten (10) years.
Minimum two (2) years experience in performing quality assurance or ensuring compliance against technical requirements, housing standards or codes.
Experience in providing expert technical or scientific advice to clients/partners/employees.
Experience in working with databases or spreadsheets.
Experience in responding to technical enquiries in plain language.
Experience in using HOT2000 modelling software.
