In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
• A secondary school diploma; AND
completion of an acceptable training program in electronics technology or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
NOTE:
Normally, an acceptable training program in electronics technology involves the completion of two to three years of post-secondary study in this subject.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in designing, prototyping, repairing or troubleshooting electronic and instrumentation systems.
• Significant work experience in a hands on electronic instrumentation environment.
Significant normally defined as 5 or more years.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
• Diploma in electronics technology from a recognized institution.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience working with data acquisition systems and signal conditioning.
• Experience with a wide variety of pneumatic, electronic and microcomputer instruments used to make measurements such as pressure, temperature displacement, strain or acceleration
• Experience in wireless data communications systems as well as installation, troubleshooting and repairing of VHF and UHF radio communication networks.
• Experience in industrial process analysis and process instruments.
• Experience in industrial networking, PLC’s and distributed control systems.
• Experience in power systems, electrical design and control and automation.
• Experience in an R&D environment.
• Experience preparing information for scientific or technical reports

ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Able to obtain and retain a DND 404 driving permit.
• Must be willing and able to travel on temporary duty assignments.
• Must be willing and able to work in a field environment in adverse weather conditions.
• Must be willing and able to work on the development of military systems.
• Must be willing and able to work in PPE that may include full face respirators.
• Must be willing to work overtime occasionally.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
