Duties

This position provides executive assistance to the Regional Manager, Farm Debt Mediation Service and, as office manager, coordinates office management requirements including mail, office supplies and managing staff office requirements. The position provides support for programs delivered through the regional office, including managing correspondence, client files and database management. The position is responsible for commitments, payments and finance management for the region.

Work environment

The position is part of a regional team that is responsible for demand delivered programs, which results in varying levels of work that must be completed under tight deadlines. As such the position is required to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff a temporary opportunity and it may be used to staff a permanent opportunity. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used for similar permanent and temporary employment for the location indicated for this process.

Successful completion of secondary school education according to provincial standards or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience using a correspondence tracking system such as TRECS or CCM Mercury.
Significant* experience using common word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, e-mail and organizational chart software (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio).
Experience in providing information to managers and employees on administrative processes, procedures and requirements.

*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of the experience normally associated with having used common word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, e-mail and organizational chart software on a daily basis for a period of at least two (2) years.

Successful completion of a post-secondary educational program from a recognized educational institution (ie. undergraduate degree, college diploma, etc).

Degree equivalency

Experience in financial management such as reporting and managing a divisional budget;
Experience in document and information management;
Experience making travel, conference and hospitality arrangements;
Experience preparing and processing correspondence, briefing notes or memoranda;
Experience in the provision of services and advice in the area of accommodations;

Knowledge of Treasury Board policies and/or guidelines pertaining to Human Resources, Finance and Administration.
