Education:
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization* in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group; OR possession of a recognized Canadian professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA or CPA).
*For this selection process, specialization is defined as successful completion of four (4) accounting and/or finance courses taken in a recognized post-secondary institution.

Experience:
Experience in 4 of the following 5 areas:
• Experience analyzing financial information and preparing reports for management
• Experience in business planning and/or resource management
• Experience using financial systems
• Experience managing an in-year budget
• Experience in providing advice, guidance and interpretation on financial information, policies, or procedures
*Experience is defined as having the depth and breadth of experience that would normally be acquired over a period of two years.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of the Financial Administration Act
Knowledge of central agencies policies and regulations related to financial administration
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Abilities:
Ability to analyze financial data, evaluate issues and recommend plans and solutions
Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines
Ability to provide advice to clients and management
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

Experience:
Experience in using Systems Applications and Products (SAP) accounting and report generating system and spreadsheet applications.
Experience using the Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS).
Experience in working for the Department of National Defence or Canadian Armed Forces.
Operational Requirements:
Must be willing to travel, as required.
Must be willing to work overtime, as required.
