The Department of National Defence (DND) is one of the largest federal government employers, offering over 70 different types of civilian career opportunities. DND's role is to provide services and support to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in their operations and missions at home and abroad. As a civilian employee, you will be an essential part of the Defence Team. This process will be used to staff two indeterminate positions (permanent). One position is located in Gatineau at the national printing bureau (NPB) on 45 boulevard Sacré-Coeur. One position is located in Ottawa at 1745 Alta Vista Drive. A pool of candidates will be established and may be used to staff positions for indeterminate (permanent positions) and position for specific period of time.

Education:
ED01: Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
*Acceptable combination is deemed to mean: 1 years of secondary and approx. 2 years of experience based on depth and breadth of experience.
Experience:
EX01: Experience (minimum 2 years) providing alteration services using an industrial sewing machine.
EX02: Experience in providing customer service.
Experience:
AE01: Tailoring experience within the federal government.
AE02: Experience of hand sewing.

K1: Knowledge of alteration and sewing techniques.
K2: Knowledge of practical methods of using tailoring equipment to provide accurate workmanship.
