Duties

Under the direction of the Regional Manager or the Manager of Surveys and Land Information, the Regional Land Surveyor manages and prepares survey contracts; oversees the work from consultants; prepares survey estimations and technical specifications. He acts as a professional expert by providing advices and recommendations on legal surveys, land information and geomatics for PSPC and clients.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one permanent position in the National Capital Region (Ottawa/Gatineau) which linguistic requirement(s) is English essential. Subsequently another position will be staffed in Montréal, Quebec, which linguistic requirement(s) is Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB.

A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within Public Services and Procurement Canada.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in land survey theory and practice or other related field such as geomatics, geodetic sciences or remote sensing.

Degree equivalency

PROFESSIONAL LICENSE
Hold a valid provincial or federal license to practice land surveying with a professional land surveying regulatory body in Canada.

Note: Before being appointed, the candidate must be accredited as a Land Surveyor in the province of Quebec (position #1) or in the province of Ontario in the Cadastral discipline (position #2).

EXPERIENCE
Experience, at least four (4) years, in legal surveying including the analysis of legal land surveying data, such as title research and land ownership analysis.

Experience in preparing and delivering briefings and reports to clients and colleagues.

Experience in Geomatics project management.

Certified license as Land Surveyor of Canada Lands Surveyor in good standing within this association.
