Auditor (AS-05) / Senior Auditor (AS-06)
The assessment board cannot make any assumptions about your experience. It is insufficient to say that you have the required qualifications, or to list your current duties. When completing the screening questions, candidates must clearly demonstrate, using clear and concrete examples, how they meet essential and asset qualifications.
Managers may consider indeterminate employees at level or equivalent for deployment. If no deployment is made, applicants from other groups and levels may be considered in the advertised selection process.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions within Global Affairs Canada department with various language requirements and/or various linguistic profiles (see "Official Language Proficiency" section). Tenures may vary according to the positions being staffed.
This fully qualified pool may also be shared with other organizations within the core public administration in order to facilitate appointments of candidates from the pool to their respective organizations.

EDUCATION (For all positions):
Graduation with a degree from a recognized postsecondary institution with a specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics, or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed.
AS-05:
Recent* and significant* experience in participating in internal or external audits.
Recent* and significant* experience in developing audit plans and programs;
Recent* and significant* experience in developing audit findings, audit conclusions and audit recommendations.
*Recent and significant is defined as the depth and breadth of the experience normally associated with the performance of the duties for a period of at least three (3) years in the last seven (7) years.
AS-06:
Recent* and significant* experience in participating in all phases of internal or external audits.
Recent* and significant* experience in developing audit plans and programs.
Recent* and significant* experience in preparing and presenting findings, conclusions and recommendations in a report format to stakeholders (e.g. senior management, audit committee members, and other external assurance service providers such as the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) and the Office of the Comptroller General (OCG).
Recent* and significant* experience in leading a section of an audit project;
*Recent and significant is defined as the depth and breadth of the experience normally associated with the performance of the duties for a period of at least four (4) years in the last seven (7) years.
ASSET QUALIFICATION (For all positions):
Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA) or
Certification from a recognized auditing association (CIA , CGAP & CISA) or MBA or MPA or Masters degree in any other field relevant to the work to be performed.
ASSET EXPERIENCE (AS-05) :
Experience in developing a risk-based audit plan.
Experience in liaising with external oversight providers such as the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) or Office of the Comptroller General (OCG).
Experience in following up and reporting on management actions plans stemming from audits.
Experience in providing internal audit input on corporate planning and reporting activities (e.g. Government of Canada activities such as Corporate Business Plan, Departmental Performance Report, Report on Plans and Priorities).

Knowledge of principles, practices and methodologies of internal audit;
Knowledge of the Treasury Board Policy on Internal Audit.

- Obtain secret security clearance upon appointment and maintain it throughout the period of employment.
