Duties: Under the direction of the unit head, the candidate will write and edit a variety of texts for internal and external documents, and in documents translated from French into English or from English into French; and will perform terminology research.
Intent: A pool of qualified candidates may be created to staff similar or identical positions at Statistics Canada with various linguistic requirements (bilingual imperative PPC/CBB, CBB/PPC, CCC/CCC and CCB/PPC), tenures and security requirements.

Education
Both streams
A degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in English, French , literature, linguistics or translation.
*Degree: A baccalaureate or higher level degree, as established by educational authorities.
Experience
Both streams
Recent and significant experience* in the writing or the unilingual and comparative editing of a wide variety of communications documents intended for various audiences.
Experience in terminology research.
Experience in providing linguistic advice.
Experience in using electronic work tools for language professionals, such as terminology banks or other language reference materials.
*Recent and significant experience is defined as experience normally acquired over a two-year period in the last five years.

Working overtime on short notice may be required.
Teleworking is not possible in this position.
