This nomination process will be staffing positions in the summer of 2017 (June-July) and meet future staffing needs in the fall of 2017 (September-October).

This contract can be for up to one (1) year with the possibility of extension.

This appointment process could also be used to staff similar temporary, acting or permanent positions in Drummondville at Service Canada.

Duties

- Promote and deliver programs to citizens and communities in response to identified or specific needs or government priorities.
- Assesse and respond to citizen or community needs.

Key Activities:
- Provide information, advice and guidance and promote and deliver programs.
- Establishe and maintain relationships with clients or stakeholders (e.g. unions, Members of Parliament (MPs), employers, sponsors, etc.) to promote and deliver the programs and to leverage cooperative solutions.
- Consult and advise on applications, proposals and action plan development.
- Assesse and recommend applications, proposals and action plans for program financial support.
- Assesse applications against relevant labour market and other information and render opinions and judgments.
- Discuss and conclude agreements with employers, sponsors and individuals.
- Monitor, analyze and evaluate agreement activities and applications to assess eligibility, process payments and make recommendations for continued and future entitlements.
- Participate in working groups at the local or community level to support the implementation of local priorities and strategies.

Physical and psychological working conditions:
- The work is performed in an open concept office.
- There is a requirement to work offsite when visiting with clients, attending meetings or carrying out monitoring visits. There may also be a requirement to travel to remote and rural locations.
- There may be a requirement to work outside of core hours.

Work environment

These Officer level positions provide information, advice and guidance, promote, evaluate, calculate and ensure the integrity in the delivery of Programs. To excel in this position you must be; highly motivated a quick learner, quality oriented, client focused and able to thrive in a fast paced, high volume environment.

Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates will be created to staff temporary, acting or permanent positions in Drummondville and could also be used to staff current and/or future temporary, acting or permanent positions at Service Canada in Drummondville.

To meet operational requirements, staffing bilingual positions could be prioritized.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

Successful completion of two (2) years post-secondary education from a recognized educational institution (e.g. community college, CEGEP, university) in a field such as in Social Sciences or in Administration

Graduation with a degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution** with acceptable specialization in social sciences or in administration.

A baccalaureate or higher level degree, as established by educational authorities, unless the type of credential is specified in the relevant Qualification Standard.

THE ASSESSMENT PROCESS

An interview will be administered. A written exam will be administered. A situational exercise could be administered. Standardized tests could be administered.

Reference checks will be sought. You will be required to provide the contact information at the time of assessment (name, phone number, e-mail address, position title and relationship to you for two (2) references.)

Candidates will be expected to be available for assessment during the four weeks after being preselected. Also, the evaluation involves several steps that could be administered at different times and that could take place from Monday to Friday in regular working hours. SCREENING AND SELECTION

Management may choose one or more Asset Qualifications at the screening stage and/or at the selection. Random selection and/or top-down selection may be used at the screen stage to identify which applicants will be further assessed.

A pass mark will be established for each essential qualification. Candidates must meet each essential qualification to be appointed to the position.
