The intent of this process is to staff one position on a term basis until February 28, 2018, with a possibility of extension.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar EN-ENG-02 positions at Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), various language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential and Bilingual) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.)), various security requirements, various conditions of employment and for various locations.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical or chemical engineering, or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
Experience working in pilot plant or industrial setting
Experience in conducting energy projects
Experience in data analysis and report writing
Experience in researching scientific and technical literature
Experience with projects including scheduling, costing, preparation of specification, procurement and installation and commissioning.

Information on language requirements
Knowledge of the fundamentals of thermochemical conversion processes, energy systems of industrial processes, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics.
Ability to plan and carry out experimental testing to obtain the optimum amount of useful data, interpret the results and prepare relevant conclusions.
Ability to prepare specifications for equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively orally
Ability to communicate effectively in writing

Experience in advanced energy conversion systems such as oxy-fuel combustion, low temperature waste heat or oil sand bitumen recovery processes
Experience in planning and conducting tests using one or more of the following feedstocks: biomass, waste derived fuels, fossil fuels.
Experience with some aspects of thermochemical conversion systems such as gasification and combustion systems.
Knowledge of modelling techniques
Knowledge of industrial processes and process equipment
Knowledge of design, installation and operation of energy systems
