This process will be used to staff one position on an indeterminate basis and to create a pool of qualified candidates. The pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (i.e. indeterminate, term, and acting) within the audit branch of Natural Resources Canada.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with a specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND Possession of a recognized professional accounting designation (i.e. CPA, CA,CMA or CGA).
Recent* and significant** experience in leading components of the planning, conduct and reporting phases of internal or performance audit projects on financial matters as well as non-financial matters.
Recent* and significant** experience in presenting audit findings, audit conclusions and audit recommendations to senior management***.
Recent* experience in writing briefing material to senior management***.
Recent* experience in writing internal or performance audit reports.
Experience in supervising the work of auditors****
* Recent experience is defined as experience gained within the last five (5) years.
** Significant experience is defined as experience associated with having performed a range of related activities, which could normally be acquired over a period of approximately three (3) years.
*** Senior Management is defined as director general level or equivalent, and above
****Includes supervising the work of junior auditors; however, it does not include supervising students.

Demonstrated progress towards a recognized professional internal audit designation (i.e. CIA, CGAP or CISA).
Experience in leading continuous auditing projects.
Experience using data analytics software, for a specific project, such as ACL and/or IDEA.
