Administrative Assistants/Clerks with the Department of National Defence perform a variety of duties which may include: reception; records management; data entry and retrieval; document creation, processing and/or tracking; coordinating and/or supporting meetings or events; and use and maintenance of office equipment and supplies. This work may be performed within a range of organizations/work environments such as office, warehouse or maintenance facility work settings. The work may require lifting and carrying of heavy items or boxes and/or reaching for folders or items from a range of high to low shelving/storage areas.
A pool of qualified candidates may be created and used to staff similar permanent or temporary vacancies (including internal staffing, such as acting appointments) within the Department of National Defence in Dundurn, Saskatchewan.

Successful completion of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience using databases or inventory control systems.
Experience using spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft Excel.
Experience providing administrative support services, including electronic or hard copy records management.
Recent* experience providing administrative support services in one or more of the following areas:
• finance, such as Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, or reconciliations; or
• procurement in goods or services.
(* Recent is defined as experience obtained in the last five (5) years).
Post secondary education in a relevant field of study (for example: business administration, office administration, etc).
Experience handling/destroying classified/sensitive materials in an office environment.
Experience using one or more of the following computer systems/software:
• financial management accounting databases (i.e. Simply Accounting, AccPac, etc.); or
• Departmental (DND) systems, such as PeopleSoft, Human Resource Management System (HRMS), Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS), or ClaimsX.
