Intent of the process

This is an anticipatory process.

The results of this process may also be used to fill similar positions on a permanent or temporary basis.

Transport Canada has Administrative Assistant positions located in groups such as: Human Resources, Finance and Administration, Information Management, Programs and in our Operations.

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or employer approved alternative(s)

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in providing administrative support services in an office environment including record keeping, preparation of letters and/or reports, and data entry
- Experience in the use of a variety of computer software programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

EDUCATION:
Post-secondary education related to office administration, accounting, finance or any other fields related to the position to be staffed.

EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in providing administrative support services related to various HR disciplines in the Public Service
- Experience with an Information Management System such as: Transport Integrated Personnel System (TIPS), People Soft, Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
- Experience in entering financial transactions in an integrated computerized financial management system such as Oracle, SAP etc
- Experience in accounting operations, including the processing and the account verification of supplier invoices or reconciliation of supplier accounts
- Experience in applying financial policies, directives or procedures such as Treasury Board Directive on Account Verification
- Experience in information management practices including researching and retrieving paper and electronic information/records
- Experience in using the records documents information management system (RDIMS)
